Heal from Trauma Without Reliving the Pain

Have you ever wondered why certain memories, sounds, or situations still trigger strong emotions—no matter how much time has passed? That’s where Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy can help.

I use EMDR therapy online to help individuals safely process and release the emotional weight of past experiences so they can finally move forward. EMDR is one of the most researched and effective trauma treatments available today, and it helps the brain do what it was designed to do — heal.

What is EMDR and How Does It Work?

EMDR helps your brain reprocess distressing memories that have become “stuck” in your nervous system. When something traumatic happens, the mind and body sometimes can’t fully process it, leaving emotional memories that continue to trigger anxiety, fear, shame, or guilt long after the event.

During EMDR, I guide you through gentle bilateral stimulation (like following a moving light or alternating tapping tones). This process activates both sides of the brain—similar to what happens during REM sleep—helping your mind safely reprocess those memories so they no longer hold the same emotional charge.

You don’t have to talk in detail about your trauma for EMDR to work. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and paced according to your comfort and readiness.

What EMDR Can Help With

EMDR therapy is highly effective for trauma and posttraumatic stress, but it’s also beneficial for a wide range of issues, including:

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Childhood abuse or neglect

  • Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias

  • Grief and loss

  • Burnout, compassion fatigue, and caregiver stress

  • Performance anxiety and perfectionism

  • Low self-worth and shame

  • Disturbing or intrusive memories

  • Emotional reactivity and relationship triggers

If you often find yourself feeling “stuck,” overly reactive, or burdened by painful past experiences that seem out of proportion to the present moment, EMDR can help you finally find relief.

My EMDR Approach

I integrate EMDR with Attachment-Focused Therapy, Somatic Awareness, and the Flash Technique to make the process safe, gentle, and effective. My approach helps clients calm their nervous system, build internal safety, and process trauma without becoming overwhelmed.

I work with:

  • Caregivers and helping professionals coping with burnout or secondary trauma

  • First responders and law enforcement processing critical incident stress

  • Autistic and neurodivergent adults experiencing sensory or social trauma

  • Adults with complex or developmental trauma who feel stuck in cycles of shame or self-doubt

Every session is online, confidential, and tailored to your unique needs—so you can heal wherever you feel most comfortable.

Start Healing at Your Own Pace

You don’t have to relive your trauma to release it. EMDR helps your brain and body find balance again so you can live with more peace, confidence, and control.

If you’re ready to feel lighter and more grounded, I’d be honored to walk with you through the healing process.
