Healing Through Connection, Regulation, and Relief
Trauma can leave invisible marks that don’t fade with time. Maybe you’ve tried to move forward, but certain sounds, places, or feelings still trigger anxiety, panic, or emotional shutdown. You might feel detached, hyperalert, or caught in patterns you can’t quite explain. Whether your trauma stems from abuse, loss, first responder experiences, chronic stress, or childhood attachment wounds, the body and mind remember what the world asked you to forget.
I help people gently and safely work through trauma using evidence-based, body-centered, and attachment-informed approaches designed to heal both the emotional and physiological effects of distress.
How Trauma Affects You
Trauma isn’t defined by what happened—it’s defined by how your mind and body experienced it. You might notice:
Anxiety, fear, or chronic tension
Nightmares, flashbacks, or intrusive thoughts
Avoiding reminders of what happened
Feeling detached, numb, or easily startled
Irritability, anger, or emotional overwhelm
Difficulty connecting with others
Feeling “stuck,” disconnected, or like your nervous system is always on alert
If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken—you’re human. Trauma changes how the brain and body process information, but with the right tools and support, healing is absolutely possible.
My Approach to Treating Trauma
I believe trauma therapy should feel safe, structured, and empowering. My approach integrates several evidence-based modalities that address trauma from multiple angles—cognitive, emotional, and somatic (body-based)—to help you regulate, process, and rebuild connection with yourself and others.
Here’s how I help my clients heal:
🧠 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories so they lose their emotional intensity. Through guided bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping), you can safely revisit experiences without being overwhelmed, allowing the mind to store them as “past” instead of “present.”
⚡ The Flash Technique
For clients who find traditional trauma work overwhelming, I use the Flash Technique—a gentle, research-supported method that helps reduce distress quickly without requiring detailed discussion of the trauma. It’s especially helpful for first responders, caregivers, and neurodivergent clients who prefer less verbal processing.
🌿 Somatic Experiencing & Body Awareness
Trauma often lives in the body as tension, shutdown, or hypervigilance. Using somatic techniques, I help you tune into physical sensations, release stored stress, and restore a sense of safety and calm in your nervous system. This is essential for those who’ve lived in survival mode for too long.
💞 Attachment-Focused Therapy
Many people I work with—especially caregivers, trauma survivors, and adults who grew up in invalidating or chaotic homes—carry attachment wounds that affect trust, boundaries, and self-worth. Together, we’ll explore how past relationships shape your patterns today and build a more compassionate connection with yourself and others.
Populations I Serve
I specialize in trauma therapy for:
Caregivers experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, or secondary trauma
First responders and law enforcement dealing with critical incident stress and chronic exposure to danger
Autistic adolescents and adults navigating sensory overload, masking fatigue, and social trauma
Adults with complex or developmental trauma from difficult childhoods, loss, or abuse
Each client’s story is unique. My role is to provide a safe, grounded space where healing happens at your pace—not through pressure or re-exposure, but through connection, safety, and understanding.
You Can Heal Without Reliving the Pain
Healing from trauma doesn’t mean forgetting—it means being free from its grip. With the right tools and compassionate guidance, you can learn to regulate your emotions, quiet intrusive memories, and reconnect with your body and relationships.
If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I would be honored to walk with you. 📍 Telehealth trauma therapy available across Texas.
